We recently finished a storefront awning recover for Max’s Oyster Bar, and the new look really stands out. The bright red awnings bring a lot of life to the front of the building and make the restaurant easy to spot from the street. Even with work going on out front, the awnings still pull your eye right to the entrance.
For this job, we recovered the retractable awnings instead of replacing the full setup. It helped make the window look good without changing the existing frame. After putting on the new material and making sure it was tight, the whole window appeared neat and bright.
The fabric used was Sunbrella Jockey Red (#4603). It is a bold color that works well with the brick building and the red lettering above the windows. We also added white graphics across the front, including the text for Oysters, Clams, Lobster, Shrimp, Fish, and Steak. The smaller awning on the side was finished with “The Freshest,” which ties the whole design together.
The awnings not only enhance the aesthetics of the structure but have additional uses too since the awnings are retractable and can provide shade whenever it is required. That makes them a smart choice for a busy restaurant storefront. Good fabric, clear graphics, and the right color can make a big difference without changing the full outside of the building.
The incredible New Haven Awning crew completed the installation on May 15. We are proud of how this one turned out and happy to help Max’s Oyster Bar bring some new energy to its storefront. The Jockey Red fabric looks sharp, the graphics are easy to read, and the finished awnings give the restaurant a strong look from one end to the other.
