New Haven Awning Co. is looking for a reliable Full-Time Construction installer familiar with installing custom canvas awnings, retractable awnings, metal canopies, and other shade products. Able to work 40+ hours a week. Ability to travel and work overtime, as necessary, to complete installations
Efficiently and timely completes all installations, provides general support to other installers and Project Manager, while adhering to quality, safety, and installation specifications. Maintains positive rapport with clients and installation team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Lift and attach rigid or roll-up canvas and metal awnings and solar screens onto buildings, using hand tools and/or power tools. Operate power tools and other necessary equipment to perform tasks necessary to complete awning installation to specifications. Accurately measuring and marking of installation site for frame brackets, etc. i.e. over doors, windows, store fronts. Correctly installing all New Haven Awning products, handling all product components with proper care, including adhering to all code specifications, quality, and safety standards.
Prepares truck for each day by ensuring necessary tools, installation supplies, product, and equipment have been stocked for each job scheduled that day. Project a professional image, which includes wearing company attire with logo.
Maintain a safe driving record. Be courteous to other drivers and pedestrians while driving New Haven Awning vehicles. Assist in documentation of service and installation actions by completing installation books with taking detailed notes. Maintain all equipment in good operating condition and follow routine maintenance procedures.
Maintain a clean and professional job site throughout installation and upon project completion. Keep up to date on awning products and new installation tools. Respectfully interact with New Haven Awning owners, Management, Installation Coordinator, Awning designers and other office staff. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of carpentry skills a PLUS. Math, reading and writing skills. Knowledge of common attachment devices (i.e. Sleeve anchors, tap cons, structural fasteners…). Ability to talk others to convey information clearly, effectively and in a professional manner. Project a professional image and interact positively with clients, co-workers, vendors, and others.
Responsibilities

· Arriving to shop location on time and prepared
· Loading trucks with the day’s jobs
· Installing awnings, patio covers, retractables, and other canvas shade products
· Ensuring that the job is completed with high quality standards
· Cleaning job site after completion of work
· Ensuring customers are satisfied with the final product that they receive – having them sign off on the work done
· Unloading and preparing trucks
· Keep work trucks clean with the assistance of the other installers
· Capable of reading orders
Qualifications
· The Lead Installer position requires both mental and physical strength
· Must have a good driving record
· Have a strong work ethic
· Have at least intermediate knowledge of construction
· Be capable of lifting and carrying up to 75+ pounds
· Have attention to detail
· Be comfortable with speaking with customers on the job
· Experience installing awnings, retractables and other shade structures is a PLUS (but not necessary)
· Driver’s License (Required)

New Haven Awning, a 92-year old leader in shade and weather protection solutions, is looking to invest in a full-time entry-level sales trainee who will evolve into a full commissioned sales specialist.
This individual will be trained on all our product lines, price projects, develop estimates and learn to deliver interactive presentations among other sales related activities
During the required 6 – 12 months product training, client service, and installation technique program, the trainee will be working alongside New Haven Awning’s management team to assure success. Some field-based training will be required.
This is a 40 hour a week, salaried training program. Once the training is completed, compensation will be based on sales commissions.
